A Glimpse of Virginia

Virginia’s size and lop-sided population density tends to give it an eastern bias. The decades-long boom of Washington, DC has also given Virginia’s northern suburbs a political and cultural boost, while Appalachia Virginia hasn’t seen any equivalent economic or in-migration gains. Taking a road trip through the western part of the state for its natural beauty, small cities, and culture, however, is well worth a weekend away.
